A move is coming up and the pile of stuff looks huge at first? Don't panic. With the right system, packing becomes relaxed instead of chaotic. After all, we pack every day – here are our 7 favourite tips for you.
1. Start early, room by room
Start with the rooms you rarely use: basement, storage room, guest room. Work through systematically and only pack the things you use daily at the very end.
2. Heavy things in small boxes
Books and heavy items belong in small boxes, light things in large ones. That keeps every box carryable – 20 to 25 kilos max. Your back (and our crew) will thank you.
3. Label boxes cleverly
Write on every side what's inside and which room the box goes to. At the new place everyone immediately knows where things belong – that saves a huge amount of time.
4. Wrap glass and crockery individually
Wrap every glass and plate individually in packing paper and stuff cavities with paper so nothing shifts. On request we'll handle all the packing of fragile items for you.
5. Don't forget the essentials box
Pack a box with everything you need on the first evening:
- •Documents, chargers and medication
- •Toilet paper, soap and a towel
- •Bed linen and nightwear
- •Snacks, water and some tools
6. Apply for a no-parking zone in good time
In Regensburg's old town with its narrow lanes, a free parking space is worth its weight in gold. You should apply for a no-parking zone 2 to 3 weeks in advance – or simply leave it to us.
7. Get reinforcements
For packing you can ask friends – for carrying, loading and transporting, we're there for you. Young muscle, old-school values: punctual, clean, honest. You sit back, we do the lifting.
